Sister Cities

How Sister Cities Work

Your Home City

When you join DCS, you're assigned to a Sister City based on your location. This is your home arena:

  • Where you compete weekly
  • Who you're ranked against
  • Which Elite Six you qualify for
  • Your city community

Representing Your City

Your performance affects more than your personal ranking:

  • Cities are ranked against each other nationally
  • Strong individual performance lifts your city
  • City rankings determine bragging rights and special events
  • Top cities gain recognition and additional opportunities

City Culture

Each Sister City develops its own character:

  • Play styles — Regional strategies and preferences
  • Key players — The names everyone knows
  • Local events — In-person gatherings and competitions
  • Community vibe — Some competitive, some social, most both

City Rankings

Individual Rankings Within Cities

Players are ranked within their Sister City:

  1. Weekly ranking: Determines Elite Six qualification
  2. Season ranking: Accumulated performance over the season
  3. All-time ranking: Career performance in that city

City vs. City Rankings

Cities are ranked nationally based on:

  • Aggregate player performance
  • Elite Six consistency
  • National tournament representation
  • Active player base

Top cities earn recognition and may host special events.

Weekly City Challenges

Every Sister City runs a weekly challenge:

Monday - Saturday: Qualification

  • Play matches against other city members
  • Earn ranking points based on results
  • Track your position on the weekly leaderboard

Saturday: Deadline

  • Registration for Elite Six closes
  • Final rankings determined
  • Top 6 players confirmed

Sunday: Elite Six Showdown

  • Top 6 players compete for prize pool
  • Matches determine prize distribution
  • Results posted, prizes distributed

Finding Your City

Location-Based Assignment

DCS uses your location to assign your initial city:

  • Based on registration address
  • Closest Sister City geographically
  • Can be updated if you relocate

Multi-City Play

Under certain conditions, players can compete in additional cities:

  • Relocation: Move to a new city
  • Travel events: Special cross-city tournaments
  • Regional competitions: Multi-city brackets

Standard weekly challenges remain city-specific.

Building City Community

City Chat

Each Sister City has a dedicated chat space:

  • Organize matches
  • Discuss strategy
  • Coordinate local events
  • Welcome new players

Local Events

Many cities organize in-person gatherings:

  • Watch parties for Elite Six showdowns
  • Local tournaments at venues
  • Social meetups for the community
  • City celebrations for achievements

City Leaders

Active players often become informal city leaders:

  • Welcoming newcomers
  • Organizing activities
  • Representing the city culture
  • Mentoring developing players

City Strategy

For Individual Players

  • Play consistently — Regular activity maintains ranking
  • Know your competition — Study the top players in your city
  • Build relationships — Strong community improves experience
  • Represent well — Your conduct reflects on your city

For City Success

Cities thrive when:

  • Active player base maintains competition
  • New players are welcomed and developed
  • Local events build community
  • Top players stay engaged and mentor others

City Pride

What Your City Means

Your Sister City is more than a competition zone. It's:

  • Your domino home base
  • A community of fellow players
  • A source of local pride
  • Your path to national recognition

City Rivalries

Healthy rivalries develop between cities:

  • Regional battles (Miami vs. Tampa, Dallas vs. Houston)
  • Historical matchups
  • Friendly trash talk and competition
  • Extra stakes in cross-city events

These rivalries add meaning to competition and build engagement.
